2009 Positive Activities Grants for Youth Groups in North Yorkshire

North Yorkshire Youth have the following grants available for groups of young people or those working with them. The grants are available to support the aim of giving young people ‘things to do and places to go’.

North Yorkshire Youth have the following grants available for groups of young people or those working with them. The grants are available to support the aim of giving young people ‘things to do and places to go’.
For the purpose of these grants ‘Youth’ means - young people aged 13 to 19yrs (25yrs for young people who have a learning difficulty or disability).

NYY Start up Grant:
This fund is to support start up costs for voluntary community youth projects in North Yorkshire. Many start up projects are run on a shoe string by local volunteers. This fund is to support groups in their first year. Awards between £500 and £1000 are available although if you require less you can still apply. NYY Activity Grant
This fund is to support voluntary community youth projects in North Yorkshire. This fund can support groups who wish to provide ‘places to go’ for young people. Trips can cost a significant amount for small groups in rural communities, generally due to transport arrangements. This grant can provide the funding to enable young people to access positive activity opportunities outside their local area. All we need you to have is some willing volunteers and to make sure you follow our basic policy and procedure requirements. This fund is not available for overseas expeditions or individuals.

NYY Voluntary Sector Community Grant
This fund can be used to support positive activities for Young People in North Yorkshire. This fund can be used for group who are finding it difficult to fund projects, outings or activities, due to costs involved, lack of funding opportunities elsewhere or difficulties in fundraising. This fund has been created as occasionally we receive requests from groups who are trying to provide excellent opportunities for young people, when the funding is a significant barrier.
