Volunteering is a great way to boost your CV, college and university applications, get involved in your local community, help others and can also help you to find paid work. Volunteering can also offer you new challenges, the chance to meet new people, have fun and develop life and work skills. North Yorkshire Youth have developed a young people’s volunteering project which supports young people to find and set up a suitable placement that matches their interests and availability. Our volunteer co-ordinators will offer support throughout the placement. The project is currently available in the Hambleton, Harrogate and Selby districts of North Yorkshire.
What the Project offers:
Young People - The project is for ages 14-25yrs, and can be done individually or as part of a group. It is a simple process to sign up, complete our application form telling us of your interests, previous experience and what time you can offer and we will arrange to meet with you to look at what is available in your area. If you have something specific in mind and we can’t find an existing vacancy, we will then contact organisations on your behalf. We can also help you to log your volunteering hours and get certificates to add to your CV.
Organisations - could you offer a placement to a young person to support their learning and life experiences? We are always looking for new placement opportunities, our role is to make sure that everything is in place so you can host a safe, positive and productive placement. We will work with you to match your placement to a young person that has the skills and qualities you are looking for and can support you and the young person throughout the placement.
